Access advice and audits

Formerly known as Beyond the Scars Warrington, is a self help group for people who self harm.

Caravan in North Wales

WDP owns and runs a wheelchair accessible caravan in North Wales available for weekly hire.

Anyone can become a carer; carers come from all walks of life, all cultures and can be of any age.

The Disability Confident Scheme aims to help you successfully employ and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.

Direct Payments Support

A Direct Payment is money the council can give you, to enable you to set up and control the services you choose to meet your needs.

MILS Liverpool

We work in partnership with Liverpool City Council and Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust to run the Liverpool Disabled Living Centre.

Disability Hate Crime Reporting

Disability hate crime is a matter of current concern. This occurs when disabled people are victimised because of their disability.

Disability Heritage

Since 2015 we have displayed a disability timeline spanning from before the Common Era circa 500CE through to the 21st Century.

Tailored to your Personal Needs including Job Search, Cv Writing, Interview Preperation and many more.

Energy Saving Support Service

Our City and Guilds qualified Energy Advisors provide a FREE, impartial high-quality energy advice and support service to households falling into the fuel poverty line.

Staying Connected Forum

The meeting has a lively agenda for discussion and an active membership of over 40 individuals and organisations.

Galleries Café

Our five star rated Galleries Café is open to the public five days per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am till 3.30pm.

Long-COVID Support

Recovery from Coronavirus (COVID-19) is different for everyone. Though most people will recover within 12 weeks, for some the effects last much longer.

Meeting rooms

We have 3 meeting rooms based in our Centre for Independent Living. We are away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

Marjorie Griffiths Learning Centre

Our Marjorie Griffiths Learning Centre boasts a fully accessible IT Suite with height adjustable tables and chairs, twelve computers all with touch screen monitors and Microsoft office packages on all the computers.

Shopmobility

We have developed a wide range of services aimed at helping you maintain and/or improve your mobility and independence.

Mobility Equipment Recycling Scheme

During the past decade mobility and other independent living products have become more readily available.

Mobility Training Track

Measuring over 30 metres in length the track includes a variety of surfaces such as tactile paving, cobbles, gutters and gravel.

Mobility Workshop

Our purpose built mobility workshop and service centre is located within the grounds of the Centre for Independent Living in Beaufort Street, Warrington.

OWCH Pain Support Group

The Owch Pain Support Group is run by a team of volunteers who have progressed through the Pain Management Programme.

WDP offers a reliable and efficient Payroll service tailored to meet the needs of Direct Payments users.

Sex and disability

Most disabled people and their partners have more pressing matters to discuss with their GP, other medical professional or social worker, and many don’t know who to turn to with their questions.

WDP is an internationally acclaimed user-led charity. With over 30 years experience of developing and delivering mobility and independent living services.

Volunteering

Our team of around 200 volunteers play a very important role working alongside paid members of our team; without our volunteers we would not be able to operate our services as effectively as we do.
