Exciting things are happening as Wizard II – John B, our brand-new accessible wide beam boat, prepares to launch in 2026.
This incredible project has been made possible thanks to a very generous donation from a wonderful lady who wanted to leave a charitable legacy in memory of her husband. The boat has been named Wizard II – John B in his honour, ensuring his memory will live on through the many people who will enjoy time on the water.
The boat is now nearing completion, with construction almost finished. Designed with accessibility at its heart, Wizard II – John B will be fully accessible and will also allow wheelchair users to take the helm and drive the boat themselves, creating a truly inclusive boating experience.
Wizard II – John B is significantly larger than the original Wizard, measuring 50ft long and 10ft 6in wide, providing more space and comfort for everyone on board. The boat features full central heating, a galley kitchen, a quiet engine, and detachable windows, making trips enjoyable throughout the year.
Once launched, the boat will offer cream tea cruises and day trips along the waterways, welcoming groups of up to 12 people. These trips will give disabled people, families, carers and community groups the opportunity to relax, socialise and enjoy the canals in a fully accessible environment.
With the launch getting closer, excitement is building as we prepare to welcome passengers aboard Wizard II – John B, creating new opportunities for accessible boating and unforgettable experiences on the water.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get ready to set sail.
