Personal Care Assistant Role

Independent Living Team (on behalf of the employer)
Hours of Work
2 hours per week, to be worked on weekends (Saturday or Sunday, approximately 10:00am–12:00 noon) and during school holidays.
There may also be occasional hours on Tuesdays after school (from approximately 5:45pm) to support the child at the Youth Zone in Warrington.
Exact working hours will be discussed at interview with the employer.

Rate of Pay
£13.45 per hour
About the Role
A Personal Care Assistant is required to provide personal and practical support for a 10-year-old child with autism, helping him to access social and leisure activities within the community.
Main Duties
Prompting and supporting with personal care tasks, including supervision when using the toilet and adjusting clothing
Escorting to events and outings
Supporting participation in social and leisure activities such as:
Walking
Visiting parks and play areas
Trips to zoos and farms
Visiting cafés
Person Specification
Car owner/driver essential – the successful applicant must use their own vehicle for work purposes and ensure appropriate business insurance cover
Experience working with children with autism is essential
Awareness that the child has no sense of danger outdoors
Does not travel by bus due to sensitivity to noise

The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check (free of charge)
