Personal Assistant Required

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to support a friendly 44-year-old gentleman living in Great Sankey, Warrington, who has a rare progressive neurological condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia.
Hours of Work
10 hours per week, plus one overnight stay
Hours to be worked over one full day (Saturday or Sunday), with additional hours used flexibly
Overnight arrangements can be discussed with the successful applicant

📍 Great Sankey, Warrington
Rate of Pay
£13.45 per hour
£75.00 per overnight sleep-in
Duties Include
Supporting with personal care, including showering, dressing, assistance with transfers to and from the commode, and medication administration
Preparing meals
Laundry duties, including washing, drying and putting clothes away
Accompanying the client on walks with his Border Collie, Leah
Attending medical appointments alongside the client and his existing Personal Assistant
Supporting the client with social activities, including occasional trips to football matches (he is a Manchester United season ticket holder)
Driving Requirement
A full driving licence is essential. The client has a Motability vehicle available for use during working hours.
About the Role
The client currently has a full-time Personal Assistant, and we are seeking additional support following an increase in his care package.
The client uses hoists for transfers into bed, his wheelchair, the shower and the toilet. Full training will be provided, so previous experience with hoisting equipment is not essential.
The client is also partially sighted and requires assistance with inserting and removing his contact lenses.
He enjoys music, football, films, and spending time in his “man cave” playing chess on his phone. He has a great sense of humour, takes pride in his appearance, and enjoys good company. There is never a dull moment when you’re around Jonathan!
