Hi, I’m a mum with a disability living in Lymm with my two children, aged 9 and 12. I am looking for a friendly, reliable PA/Carer to help me with day-to-day household tasks so that I can focus on being a mum and my children can simply be children.
This is not an agency role and no personal care is required.
I am looking for someone who will get to know our family, our routines, and our way of doing things. My previous PA was with us for over three years and would happily recommend the role. I am hoping to find someone who wants to stay long-term.
About the role
You will be supporting me to run our household, including preparing and cooking family meals, keeping the house ticking over, and being a reliable, calm presence when the children are home from school. The children have additional needs, and home is their safe place, so warmth, patience, and consistency matter a great deal. This is not a childcare or nannying role, but it is a family household and the children are part of the picture. For example, you may need to get them a drink or a snack when they get in from school when my condition means I am unable to.
Duties include
Meal preparation and cooking for the family, including accommodating different dietary needs and allergies (recipes provided). Tidying, laundry, and general household organisation. Changing beds. Putting shopping away. Light errands such as the post office, charity shop, and occasional top-up shops.
About you
Experience in a caring or household support role is essential. You do not need to have worked in a formal care setting, but you do need to understand what it means to support someone in their own home.
The right person will be someone who can use their initiative and get on with things without needing constant direction, but who is equally comfortable following specific instructions about how we do things. These two qualities together are what make this role work.
A warm, non-judgmental approach is essential. Driver with own car preferred. DBS required (can be arranged). Cannot offer visa sponsorship.
Hours
Monday (or Tuesday) 2.30-6.30pm and Friday 3-6pm. Additional hours may be available on an ad hoc basis if wanted.
