Lancaster born and bred, Dave moved into the area in 2008 when he was working as IT Director at a local NHS Trust. The father of a young man with autism and severe learning disability and the husband of a subarachnoid haemorrhage survivor. Stage 4 Cancer forced Dave’s retirement from the NHS in 2014, but he has been in remission for some time now.
A former officer in the Merchant Navy, Dave is a keen sailor and is currently Commodore of Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club with plans to expand Sailability activities there. Dave also works as a campaigns ambassador and a health awareness volunteer with Cancer Research UK and as a patient campaigner with www.usemydata.org.uk Dave joined the WDP Board in 2017. Dave is a member of WDP’s Finance and IT Sub Group.
